In today’s podcast, Anthony Cekay sits down with saxophonist Ezra Brown to talk some saxophone. Ezra is a saxophonist who specializes in gospel, blues jazz R & B and hop-hop style saxophone playing. Originally from Mississippi, Ezra now lives in New York City and plays weekly at the Village Underground. During the interview, Anthony and Ezra discuss Ezra’s time playing in big bands at Jackson State University; how peoples’ listening patterns have impacted the way music is produced; playing saxophone in the church; and they do some saxophone playing.
