Podcast: Stefan Weisman

In today’s podcast, Anthony Cekay interviews composer Sefan Weisman about his recent collaboration with Anna Rabinowitz and American Opera Projects titled Darkling. Stefan is a graduate of Bard College (BA), Yale University (MA), and Princeton University (PhD). His composition instructors include David Lang, Joan Tower, Martin Bresnick, Steven Mackey, and Paul Lansky. Presently, he is on the faculty of Bard College’s HSEC in Queens, New York. He has also taught at Juilliard School’s Music Advancement Program, the City College of New York, CUNY, and the Princeton University Department of Music. He and Anthony discuss his non-traditional path to finding composition; his writing process; and the Darkling project. You can listen here:
